The second IRCache cache-off is a two week long event. Each vendor is assigned one of the two 5-day long time slots:
Working hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 8pm. Performance tests can be run overnight.
All equipment must be shipped to arrive Saturday or Sunday before your time slot. Shipments arriving before January 15 will be left unattended, so do not do it.
Mondays will be used primarily for setup and unofficial testing with limited Polyteam assistance. No performance tests will be started after 8:00pm on Thursdays. All participants must clear the premises by 8:00pm on Fridays.
Look elsewhere for up-to-date cache-off deadlines.
A 50,000 ft2 facility for the second cache-off was provided by Compaq Corporation. Here is the address:
Compaq Computer Corporation
Attn: IRCache Cache-off
MOD: B
24500 Hwy 290
Cypress, TX 77429
USA
Access to the cache-off will be limited to the cache-off participants (one or two persons per entry) and Polyteam members.
Detailed driving instructions from IAH airport are available. Note that the Compaq manufacturing building (Mod B) will be on the right hand side adjacent to the freeway.
Look elsewhere for local weather forecast.
The facility has only one phone line. Please bring cell phones if you plan to make phone calls. We will try to arrange for Internet access, but cannot guarantee it at the time of writing.
We intend to organize on-site lunches.
Polyteam is renting PCs to be used as Polygraph clients and servers. Minimum PC configuration includes:
Remember that participants are responsible for all networking gear to connect Polygraph machines and proxies. Participants can use their own Ethernet cables to connect Polygraph PCs; Polyteam will provide participants with rented cables if needed.
All benches will be physically separated, and no [network] connections between benches will be allowed (except for temporary connections maintained by Polyteam as described in the rules). We will not offer private rooms for test benches. Participants will be able to see each other equipment, and photographs of the configurations will be taken by Polyteam.
